The Process

Getting a non-invasive prenatal paternity (NIPP) DNA test with Meta Mobile DNA is simple. Start by calling or booking online and submitting payment. The test requires a blood sample from the mother, which can be collected by her doctor or a phlebotomist in our network. The alleged father provides a DNA sample via mouth swab using an in-home kit or by visiting a collection facility. Once the lab receives the samples, results are available within 7 days.

N

Sample Collection

The mother’s DNA sample can be collected by her doctor or a local phlebotomist, while the alleged father’s DNA can be obtained using an in-home kit or at a local collection facility.

N

DNA Extraction

In the lab, DNA is extracted from the collected samples. This involves isolating the genetic material from cells.

N

Genetic Marker Analysis

Specific genetic markers, which vary from person to person, are analyzed. A child inherits half of their DNA from each biological parent, so these markers help match the child’s DNA with the potential father’s.

N

Comparing DNA Profiles

The lab compares the DNA profiles of the child and the alleged father. A series of markers are examined to confirm a match or exclusion.

N

Results Interpretation

Based on the comparison, results show either a high probability of paternity (usually 99.99% or higher) or an exclusion (0% probability), indicating the tested man is not the biological father.

N

Results Delivery

Results are delivered electronically  within seven business days after the lab receives the samples.

The birth of a child is a profound and sacred moment—a new life filled with endless potential. Yet, sometimes, the circumstances surrounding a child’s arrival aren’t ideal for one or both parents. At Meta Mobile DNA, we understand the importance of providing compassionate support and reliable information. With the right guidance and resources, we believe every child can have a strong start and that parents can find the clarity and confidence they need to build a fulfilling future for themselves and their child.

How to Prepare for NIPP DNA Collection

Preparing for a DNA paternity test is relatively straightforward, especially since the test usually involves a simple cheek swab and in some cases, a blood draw. However, certain steps can ensure accuracy and a smooth process. Here’s how to prepare:

Preparation for the Mother

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to ensure smooth blood flow and an easier draw. Avoid excessive caffeine.

Get Enough Rest: Sleep 7-9 hours to maintain stable blood pressure and reduce stress.

Eat a Healthy Meal: Have a balanced meal before the test to prevent dizziness; avoid heavy or greasy foods.

Wear Comfortable Clothing: Choose short sleeves or loose-fitting clothes for easy access to your arm.

Avoid Intense Exercise: Stick to light activity to prevent dehydration and fluctuations in blood composition.

Check Medications: Consult your doctor if you’re on blood thinners or other medications that may affect the test.

Stay Calm & Relax: Practice deep breathing or meditation to reduce stress and ensure an easy blood draw.

Preparation for the Alleged Father

Avoid Eating, Drinking, or Smoking Before the Test: Avoid these activities for at least one hour before collecting the sample. This minimizes contamination and improves the quality of the sample.

Rinse Your Mouth:If you’re using a cheek swab, it’s helpful to brush your teeth or rinse your mouth with water about an hour before the test. This reduces any foreign substances in the mouth that might affect the sample.

Prepare Identification Documents: For legal paternity tests, both the child and the alleged father (and sometimes the mother) need valid identification (such as a passport or driver’s license). The collection site may also require photographs and fingerprints to document chain of custody.

Keep the Collection Site in Mind: If the test is for legal purposes, samples should be collected at an accredited laboratory or testing center by a professional collector who follows chain-of-custody protocols.
